Bubba Wallace Uncovers True Feelings on Beating His NASCAR Boss Denny Hamlin: “Did It at Talladega Last Year!”

After the spectacular race at Kansas, Bubba Wallace pushed himself to claim his second-ever victory in the NASCAR Cup Series. After leading 58 of the last 68 laps of the race, he edged out his boss for the win. Recently, the 23XI Racing star spoke with Steve Letarte, Jeff Burton, and Kyle Petty over a podcast and revealed how he felt after defeating his very own boss.

During the podcast, Wallace stated, “We did it at Talladega last year. We held off all the playoff guys there. So it was pretty cool to see like, Denny, on that pit sequence right, I kinda visually noticed a gap that we built just from pit entry and pit exit like we nailed that.”

“And kinda start to look into the mirror a little bit, ah okay he’s closing we still got a lead and then all of a sudden the 11 popped into the picture. He’s closing at a pretty good rate, so I was like ah! I know I’m loose and I’m driving to the edge and these guys, the fields the same way, so if I continue to do this don’t make a mistake, we’ll be okay but felt good to beat the boss .”
